OutLive Film Festival Returns March 19, 2025

Following the success of the debut OutLive Film Festival in May 2023, festival directors Adam Harum and Brad Thiessen are bringing their passion project back for what they plan to be an annual event moving forward. The festival skipped a year in 2024 because Brad was living outside of the country for a year of exploration and travel.

This year's festival will again be held at the Washington Cracker Company building in downtown Spokane, WA.

Due to the overwhelming positive audience feedback from the first event, the 2025 festival will follow the same format of 10 to 11 films, each 5-20 minutes in length, with an intermission. Beer, soft drinks and fabulous wine from Overbluff Cellars will be available to purchase throughout the evening.

The festival is built on the theme of “Stories of healing and courage, lived outdoors.” The films cover a range of people and experiences, and their tones vary from active and exciting to highly emotional to contemplative. According to festival co-organizer Adam, “Our goal is that every audience member will come away from the evening inspired to live more fully and embrace a life lived well.”

The pair first connected when Adam made a documentary of Brad’s quest to run his first 50k trail run as way of recovering from his second brain tumor.

“The healing power of the outdoors and the storytelling medium of film brought us together and shaped both of us in profound ways,” Thiessen says. “We want to share that experience with others.”

The Washington Cracker Company building, with its comfortable, casual setting, is a unique venue for a film festival. It was chosen for its relaxed vibe that will help build interaction between audience members and the films. Award-winning wine from Overbluff Cellars and other drinks will also be available.

Tickets are $15 and are available at outlivefilmfestival.com. For more information, use the contact form on the website.
